LPR Never Ends

its devastating ... i started to develop pain in my palate and throat about 2 months ago .. a sever one after eating i didnt do anything until three weeks later when i saw an ENT  speialist after thinking of reflux ... he said i was right and prescribed protprazole 20 mg once daily for a week which didn't help too much ... after this week i went again and he said i didnt improve and increased the dose to 20 mg twice daily and asked me to come 2 weeks later ... my pain after eating began to resolve but my voice bgean to hurt .. i felt like i am doing an effort to talk plus that feeling of scratching within your throat ... 2 weeks after i went again he said u r under stress and needs voice therapy bz i have laryngitis as well ... and asked me to continue treatment for three weeks then stop the drugs ... and he reassured me its not something serious and told me if i want to come visit him again to come and dont asked for consultation ... now my swallowing problems almost faded .. but the burning pain in my palate while talking is still present and frustrating ... i was in a stressful enviroment tyhe last 2 monyhs yes but i left it a week ago but still this pain is present .. i am a little concerned do i have to wait bz LPR takes time or do i have to see another ENT specialist PLZ help ...

What really stresses me that I fear it might be something else causing all this trouble and you can easily know what I am thinking about .... I don't know what's the connection between it and anything serious but the time is what really stresses me

Actually I don't feel it's related to meals , all the problem is in my voice , can't talk for long until it hurts , he knew that and told me last time to stop the treatment three weeks later ... He also told me it's all about stress if I can overcome it it will be fine !!

That's disappointing to hear ... My ENT specialist dealt with it as a common disease and didn't worry about it , he didn't even ask me to come for follow up !!

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

All issues like this will take time to resolve...continue with your meds.....as directed by the Dr....

Avoid foods that will trigger a flare, and try elevating the head of your bed...this can help keep the acids down and away from your vocal cords.....

It is a good thing you got out of a stressful situation, but that will not cause the symptoms to go away right away...it takes time so be patient, if in a few weeks you see no improvements do see your Dr again.
