Laparoscopic Hernia Repair

4477438?1242728222
At least I won't have to live with Gerd anymore but...

9 mths ago I had a hernia repair. I have been feeling all sorts of wierdness since then. My Doctor ended up giving me Alsam for 3 mths....My GP was not happy with that.  I have got off this but was struggling with side effects for mths, still do some days.

But I have the odd heart palpitations, my iron went on a decline- nearly severly. The crushing tiredness, and disorientation, my awareness is sometimes shot and I can't relax. Muscle pains I have had for over 6 months now. My stomache gets upset with loose stools. My menstrual cycles feel so much worst with Pms like symptoms. Dizziness and vertigo, I don't have faith in my strength with my kids. I can't take light and crowds and noise, i feel off balance and out of focus. AND I have pimple like symptoms on my head that won't go away, they are painful, and it feels like an elastic band around my head. I had lost over 20 kg's but I am gradually getting some of it back, which is making me feel good, with people telling me how skinny I was, I was getting a scary feeling in teh pit of my stomache.

I had taken a mth long vacation last mth. I was fine, I ate relatively well - mom's cooking. Good sunshine, clean air and good exercise. All this worry and sorry was behind me - sort off, I didn't dwell on it.

Seems to me i need to be on a permanent vacation.

How can I get past this?

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

It is possible that u may still have an acidic stomach, but I would also look into a thyroid issue....stop by the thyroid forum and see if u think ur symptoms match what is mentioned there and ask ur dr to check u .

Sometimes a hiatal hernia is the result of another condition and it is a secondary condition and since it was the one u noticed first via ur symptoms was treated for it, but not the underlying base issue.....I am sure ur dr can look to see if u have nething that would have caused u to get the hernia in the first place.

Try meditation or yoga to relax...and do try to continue to avoid foods that can create too much acid in ur stomach.

Please keep us posted on ur progress
