Liver and Iorn Test Need Advice

Hi,

I went to my GI for my lab results and he said they were higher my liver test in july was ast 96 and alt 106 and this liver test i just had was ast 148 and alt 163 and my iron was 602.2 and he said that was very high he said i could have some kind of condition i cant remember what it was and it can make my iron level be so high and my liver test too he ran alot of blood work on me for the iron and stuff and he wanted me to see him in a month at the end of oct again to go over the blood test but he called me a like a week after i had the blood test  and said he wants to see me in a couple of days to talk about my blood results it just scares me cause he wouldnt tell me over the phone and would you know what he is looking for with my iron? and i have not been feeling good dont want to eat much and very tired and i dont drink and he cheked me for hepatitis and that was negative.  I dont drink and none of the medications i take would make my liver test be high thats what my doctor said.

Thanks

Hi,

You have high iron and raised liver enzyme levels.

High iron levels can occur in a few conditions of which  hereditary hemochromatosis and NAFLD/NASH are important.
A liver biopsy would be helpful to know the cause.
