Nexium long term problems?

Nexium long term problems?

I have been taking Nexium for 6 years - 40mg per day.  I have been concerned for sometime about long term adverse affects.  I just had a kidney stone pass - my first and no history in the family.  Regardless of if Nexium may have had anything to do with that, I'm just wondering how to back off and stop taking it?

Hi....yes there r side effects from these meds one being malabsorbtion of minerals and vitamins...so it is important u r watching ur diet ie- avoid ur trigger foods and change ur lifestyle to include things to aid in digestion like elevating the head of ur bed..avoiding tight clothes ect.....

But mosst important do see a dr to help u ease off these meds....they stop production of acids and if u stop abruptly u may have an increase of acids and make u feel worse than u do now or b4 u started meds.....call ur dr and have a talk to see how to best handle this concern.
