Nissen Fundoplication has unwrapped?? help

by murph563, Aug 05, 2009 12:49PM
Hey, I had a Nissen Fundoplication done back in December, when heatburn immediately dissapeared and was just the case of giving it time for my other symptoms to dissapear such as the feeling of something stuck in my throat everytime i eat or drink something.

About a month ago i started getting a lot of indigestion, and bad stomach aches a lot, now for the last 3 weeks i have been getting reflux and heartburn everytime i eat something, i pretty much have similar symptoms as pre op, not as bad but i feel they get worse over time. Has this procedure become unwrapped?? or is there like a stomach bug i may have? but i gave it a few weeks and sure theres another explanation??

thanks

Chris

Hi,
If you get heartburm or reflux, then it could indicate a failed fundoplication.
You need to consult your surgeon for reevaluation.
