Nissen fundoplication and reflux

by lin2112, May 23, 2009 02:21PM
How can I have esophagitis if I have an intact nissen fundoplication.  It says the z line is irregular at 35 and esophagitis on EGD.

Just curious.

HI and welcome to the GERD forum.

From how I understand it...the nissen is to repair a hernia.....reflux can happen if ur LES is working slowly or if u have excess acid from diet or stress.

I would suggest u talk with ur dr and see what meds, diet and lifestyle changes he reccomends.

Please keep us posted on ur progress
