Not sure what to do!

I have had GERD since I was in my teens. I am now 37. It really flared up about 8 yrs ago. I have been on every med- PPI out there and they tend to work for a while then stop. Recently, I started with nausea especially when I exercise (which I love to do)! So, my MD put me on reglan, which worked great. But the side effects r terrible... not to mention extreme fatigue. Now I am on a Canadian med- Domperidone (Yes like the champagne), which have less side effects than reglan but helps w/nausea. I feel ok still not exercising b/c I'm too tired still. So, now my GI doc believes it is time to try surgery! I kinda agree. I'm scared of the thought but feel it is my best option at this point. I have met with a surgeon here in Boston, who is doing the TIF procedure (the only MD in Boston doing it that I know of), he has done 20 TIF's. He scheduled me for next Friday and I am ambivalent about it. Not sure what to do! Any suggestions? or info regarding the TIF procedure?

Hi ...I can only wish u the best on the procedure as I have not had it.....

I am glad u found a med that worked for u and it  is interesting that reglan is still being rx'd with all the hubbub going on about it.

I hope someone that does have info can answer ur question.

Good luck and well wishes for ur surgery
