Pain in my upper chest, right side

I have taken Prilosec for indigestion and IBS for the last year, it helps, but seems to wear off before I am suppose to take it again. I use to get pains in my upper chest after eating and a friend in med school told me I may have an acid problem where it leaks into my lungs and burns them. I cant recall the name of the condition, but the Prilosec seemed to stave off the pain, I started using the Prilosec shortly after she told me. I am 2 weeks from the end of this med cycle and I got food poisoning from some bad food the other day and after that had passed, the upper chest pain persisted. It is now two days since the food poisoning has worn off and I still have the upper chest pain. It is a dull pain that doesn't seem to spread, but is constant, and only seems to lighten after I have had water or ice tea. When I get overly warm, the pain is worse and makes me nauseous. Any idea what this could be?

When u have a DX of GERD u should modify ur diet....and ur Dr should have told u to...avoid foods that trigger the symptoms....

Have another conversation with ur dr....

Gatorade is not always the best thing to drink, even tho u were dehydrated, see ur dr for blood labs to see what ur body needs.

I haven't changed my diet very much in the last few months. I have been trying to eat healthier, but dont always stick to it. I knew a lot could have been attributed to being dehydrated, but I have been drinking a lot of water and Gatorade.

Well, persisting chest pain NEEDS to be addressed ASAP.  This could be a number of things.

Definitely should be seeking medical attention about this.

Hi...have u changed ur diet? This is very important as well as drinking plenty of water, getting the right amount of fiber to help with ur IBS issues.

Exercise is important as well....

Last make sure ur Dr checks u for low levels of vitamins and minerals...vit D, B12, magnesium and potassium.
