Pain when swollowing

Hi, I am living with this constance pain on my right side under my rib.  I was diagnosed with GERD, H-pylori, Hiatal Hernia, Gall stones and now slow stomach emptying.  I had my Gall bladder successfully removed in April 2009.  However the pain in my back in constant.  Over the past 9 months I have had the dull pain in the same spot in my back when ever I swollow.  It only happens when I swollow liquids and most of the time when it carbonated drinks, orange juice or anything with acid.  I am currently taking Prilosec(generic) 40mg once daily.  I went to my GI yesterday and he told me that I have slow stomach emptying and recommended that I take Domperidone.  I don't know much abou that medication but at this point anything to relieve that discomfort would work.  If any one has similar symptoms or have any information on what this could be please let me know.  I have a family history of GI cancer (colon, mom died at 42) and I have a colonoscopy every 5 years the last on e was 4 years ago and all was fine.  My last Endoscopy was 10/2008 and all was okay.  Need help understanding what this could be.

Hi,
Slow stomach emptying can lead to acid reflux and untreated reflux can cause inflammation of the esophagus. Inflamed esophagus causes pain during swallowing.
This can be confirmed with an upper GI endoscopy.
