Persistent sore throat after taking Prevpac and it goes forever

I was found to have H. pylori in March, 2011 and the PCP put me on Prevpac for 14-day's treatment. After I taking the 12th dose, I was felling sore throat. Since I was in vocation then, I continued to take the rest doses. later, I went to see my PCP since persistent sore throat. The PCP just said it was allegic reaction and gave me some antibiotics (erythromycin)  and ratidine. However, it totally did not work and I was referred to ENT. ENT checked and said it was nothing wrong with my throat. Then I was referred to see EGD and got some information of inflammation of food tube induced by acid. I am taking delixant for three months and nothing improved.

I am feeling terrible sore throat and something always stick there. Do you have the same experiences? Please tell me about your solution.

A tons of thanks in advance!

U may want to talk to ur GI dr about a probiotic which is used to restore the natural balance of good bacteria in the digestive track.

U mention quite a few of the tips for things to avoid with GERD:

DO not lie down for 3 to 4 hrs after eating
    Avoid spicy foods
    Avoid acidic foods

Selma:

Thank you very much for your great information. I did EGD by GI Dr and he told me that there was some evidence to suggest a reflux inflammation of my food tube.

Yes. I quit meats, sugar and tea and keep the bed 6-inches higher in one side.

By the way, I checked twice to confirm that no H. Pylori exists in my body. Do you think I need to eat some yogurt including VSL #3 double strength capsule to add some bacteria to balance the bacteria?

Hi...with H.Pylori it can take some time to get rid of this bacteria...and unfortunately the antibiotics we use also kill off all the good bacteria we need and allow yeast to grow which makes this a vicious cycle....

DIFLUCAN is helpful to keep the yeast at bay, and probiotics can help restore the natural balance  of good bacteria in ur digestive track.

The sore throat u complain about is damage from the acids that have refluxed up into the  throat and by taking the meds and modifying diet and lifestyle .,..and given time u will begin to feel better...but u have to do it all...not just take meds and expect that to do it.

  U mentioned a ENT and a PCP...but have u gone to a GI Dr?
