Yea, I hear ya. Am taking a prevpac which is a combo design specifically for this issue. 2 antibiotics from different classes as well as a PPI.

Actually, it makes considerably good sense to take a PPI, just take them as prescribed and see if it helps.  Also, mix in a good diet into your lifestyle, and follow common sense rules as outlined.
I just went through open heart surgery, and the drugs I had to take would take your breath away, but I'm still standing, and getting better daily.  My point, don't pole vault over mouse turds, try the drug exactly as prescribed, see if it helps.  Again, it's your decision.  It makes absolutely no sense to deny the PPI's, in my opinion.

Thank you. Yes it makes not sense not to do the meds. Obviously this needs to be taken care of. Hopefully the bacteria is destroyed.

You should be pleased that you are cautious about taking medications, that is a good thing.  However, after getting more information, you may change your mind about taking a proton pump inhibitor.
Your indigestion could get out of hand, and eventually even PPI's won't help you.  In my case, I developed a pre-cancerous condition called Barrett's Esophagus.  Also, stomach acids literally ate the enamel off my teeth in a very, very short period of time, requiring my teeth to be capped at great expense.   I had to have a complicated surgery with a difficult recovery.   my vocal chords are burned, and speaking is difficult.  MY point is that if you can control your indigestion with drugs that seldom have difficult side effects, you may be better off taking them.  Certainly, it is your choice.
There are measures that Selma, Moderator of this board suggests that help.  They include raising the head of the bed about six inches so acid remains in the stomach.  Avoid eating for three hours before sleeping, and never lie down right after eating.
If you do take PPI's, take them EXACTLY as prescribed.  When you take them is vital to their success.
Good luck.
