Recovery After Hiatal Hernia Repair

by SKA479, Feb 27, 2009 09:41AM
I was diagnosed with severe esophagitis June of '08 due to a acid reflux. I ended up having a hernia repair shortly after that. I don't have reflux anymore but my esophagus is still sore. Somedays more than others. Is this normal? What is the average healing time for the esophagus to repair itself?

Hi I am not familiar with ur dx or the surgery, but I believe we all can benefit from ur experience if u would elaborate on why they did the hiatial hernia repair.

I was told yrs ago, it depends on where the hernia is located as to if it will cause issues....Lately my reflux has been bad.....I am being treated for everything, but no mention of my hernia.

Can u please share what u were told?
