Reflux and Hypersalivation

i'm 27yrs old. I've been to all sorts of doctor and went for a serious amount of tests. The doctors i've seen have no idea what is really wrong with me and therefore told me to deal with it and live with my symptoms. I refuse to do so. My symptoms are so severe it has effected my quality of live in a number of ways!

My symptoms are:
heart burn from time to time - wont say its my main problem, but it happens more frequent than it normally should.
constant belching - i mean constant! after eating and drinking in extreme and then it continues during the day. It gets so bad sometimes i start belching up the food or liquid i just consumed.
hypersalivation - especially after eating and more severe after dinner.
extreme pain and pressure in my chest - feels like i'm having a hart attach sometimes.
nausea after eating - not all the time.

Tests i've done:
endoscopy - indicated a small tear... doctors are not recommending i go for operation.
24hr Hp monitoring and manotromy -  indicated that is swallow way to much air while eating and drinking.
blood tests
x-rays - didnt show anything abnormal
sonar - didnt show anything abnormal
been to see a speech therapist...doctor thought they could maybe help teach me how to swallow correctly.  she cant do anything and said she thinks ive got aerophagia.

I'm on antidepressants for the last 3yrs. Last year November i was diagnosed with CFS and a immune dis-function. in December i started experiencing my symptoms above. i cant go on like this any more!! i really need HELP!!!

Sounds like symptoms I've had.  Went to GI doc, and believes it's eosinophilic esophagitis, which is damage to the esophagus.  And since you mentioned a tear, maybe that's it?  He said there's an aspirated medicine that is supposed to help heal it for adults.   Maybe ask your GI about it?

Have you considered going to a naturopath? They help using herbal medicine and homeopathy.

I have currently just started seeing one for my dysphagia (problems swallowing) i must say its pretty embarassing myself. But i never give up hope and u shouldnt either.

I also know whats its like to have doctors not help u at all!
You may also want to research naturopathic help about your condition online since it cost money to go see real one but they will assess you every aspect of daily life. If you've tried doctors and they dont work this is more likely to help!

I hope this information helps and please never give hope!

Dear Debbie,
It sounds as if you have only tried the regular western specialized doctors yet. I don't dare saying they are clueless but very often they seem to not look at the person as a whole, only at symptoms and to cure those.
I always try my alternative experts first (trustworthy chiropractor & CAM, Center for Advanced Medicine in Encinitas, CA 92024). I am certain there are specialists in your area who connect everything about you first and look at the whole person, not just the affected area to try and solve the problem and offer a treatment; you may want to go online and check: www.camhealthtalk.com

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

It is possible that u have aerophagia, which for thos e that may read this and not familiar is swallowing air...which can cause u to aspirate ur food ...or reflux like u mentioned.

Do look at the side effects of the depression meds u r on.....alot of meds can affect gerd issues.
