STOMACH PAIN

2 YEARS AGO HAD EGD SHOWED ESOPHAGEALIRRITATION NEAR STOMACH WENT ON PRILOSEC AND SUBSIDED
NOW HAVE WORSE INTERMITTENT PAIN..MODERATE PAIN LUQ SOMETIMES PAIN UNDER STERUM ALSO..AND AM TIRED ALOT

I STARTED ON PRILOSEC 2 1/2 WEEKS AGO STILL NO CHANGE
IMG GOINGTO DR IN 2 WEEKS

WONDER HOW LONG SOMEONE SHOLD BE ON PRILOSEC AND IS THE SAME DIAGNOSIS AS BEFORE  THANKS

Hi JANIEDAN,
You suffer from GERD.
Complete relief from GERD can be acheived with PPI in 4-8 weeks. Prilosec is a PPI.
You need to continue it for 4-8 weeks.
You also need life style modifications for good results.
Discuss with your physician regarding this.
