Sleep Training for Reflux Baby ?

Ever since the first 2 teeth started breaking through my almost 7 month old stopped sleeping, he either wakes up crying or rolls over in his crib and does not know what to do. He is up pretty much every hour. He even cannot get comfortable if he is sleeping with me. He never learned how to self soothe, I am opposed to letting him cry it out as it will make the reflux worse, plus it is kind of hard putting him down drowsy but not alseep, when I need to keep him upright for a little bit after feeding him.Any suggestions, all the books I read assume baby is completely healthy, so I implemented the schedule and a regular bedtime with same routine, and he does go to bed without crying, after that though it is a comletely different story.

My Cally was like that when she first got her two teeth in.  About nothing helped, only tylenol somewhat took an edge off.  What we realized was with my own health condition, it was not good for me to get up every 2hrs to comfort her to sleep.  We turned off the baby monitor.  She learned on her own, that it won't cut it (no pun intended) and she's a good sleeper now, even while teething.  She's a happy, energetic little girl, and letting her cry it out didn't harm her one bit.

I totally agree with you about CIO with a reflux baby.  I believe your baby needs you to comfort him/her when in pain and that love/comfort during a painful time in their life will go much farther than letting them CIO when reflux is involved.  Many yrs ago .. and I mean many I do *believe* one of the major Docs out there . .either Green or Spock or somebody, did reference "except for reflux" babies, etc., etc.  Something like that ... but that was 10yrs ago when I once stood where you are now.

Teething churns the reflux and can cause an awful flare.  We lived on Tylenol and Motrin custom made suppositories cause the pain was the absolute worst for my son at that time in his life.

They won't sleep with you forever ....................just my 2 cents.
