Son's Future

My son had the Nissan surgery when he was 6 months old and had it removed at a year.  He has been fine but has never thrown up.  I am not sure if he should be able to do so.  I fear for his future.  Should he be able to regurgitate?  What happens if he is drinking alcohol and needs to get rid of the alcohol in his system or if he has food poisoning?  Should he have any issues?

Did they reverse the surgery? The wrap?  I'm not a Dr .. just a Mom like you ... I *think* if the wrap was removed/reversed than he has a reflux gag again, but I'm not certain.

Anybody else out there know maybe?

I have done a little research on this and it seems like it is on an individual basis.  Some people may have trouble burping or vomitting but others don't.  Also, the surgery is not permanent, lasting about 7-10 years.
