Sore Stomache

I just went to a new gastro doctor yesterday.  My stomache is real sore with shooting pains and he told me to use my Nexium every other day instead of twice a day.  He said it could be the cause for my pain.  He also ordered me at CT of abdomen and pelvis.  Shouldn't he prescribed something else since I have a bad case for acid reflux.

Hi,
If it is acid reflux then PPI like nexium alone is enough. Depending on the response you may have to adjust the dose.
Along with medications lifestyle modifications also are important which includes-
1. Weight reduction if obese
2. Avoiding smoking, alcohol, carbonated beverages, cola, coffee, citrus, tomato
3. Small frequent meals
4. Avoiding tight fitting clothes
5. Head elevation while sleeping
6. Going to bed at least 2 hours after food
