Stomach and fever

Let me apologize first, as my question is gastrointestinal related, however not to GERD.  I have been suffering from IBS-D for about a year now, and it is quite under control.  Last night, however, my symptoms began to flare up and I was left with a very upset/queasy stomach and stomach cramps.  Then, this morning I awoke with a low grade fever, which has persisted throughout my day.  Whatcould be causing the fever??  Should I go see my GI doctor?  Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

Hi,
The most most possible cause could be enteritis ( infection of the gut).
Have a stool analysis done for evaluation.
You may need a course of antibiotics.
Take probiotic supplements also.
For relief from pain you need to take antispasmodics.
