Success of Nissan Fundoplication Surgery

by gigi4748, Jul 29, 2009 06:43PM
Does Nissan Fundoplication Surgery work? Can the surgery become undone (the stomach tie release over time)?
Can the surgical site become infected over time?

I had Nissan Fundoplication Surgery to take care of my severe GERD. This was done in December of 2007. It worked for a while, about 6 months, and now does not work at all. I have been prescribed 2 Aciphex and 2 Zantac tablets a day. This is more medication than what I was taking before the surgery.

Has anyone had a similiar experience with this surgery? Does anyone know any other solutions to this problem?

Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.

Have u been checked to see if there is something else going on?....Gall Bladder...H.Pylori???

Has ur dr said ur Nissen has failed....I have not had this proceedure and am not familiar with how it failing may affect u.

If u use the search this community and type in Nissen u will find other threads on this topic.

Good luck
