The Doctor says i have gerd..the pain, is this like symptoms of gerd

I get pain all the time now. The pain is always in the left side of my body Tightness in the chest sharp pains and shoulder, left arm, left ribs. Never feel burning any where on my body but the Doctor says Gerd. Went to the hospital three time and said its not my hart and probably your stomach. Dose anyone feel pain likes this from Gred.. Now had a blood test and now have bacterial infection and now taking medication for both things now.
