What to do?

I have been taking Prilosec for 7 years now and have tried other h2 blockers.. Need some help here please! 33yr old male
Symptoms..
indigestion all the time, not so much heart burn but mostly indigestion. Gas and upset stomach more often than not. Hard time swallowing more recent. Food not settling well after I eat just about all the time now.. rumpling stomach before and after. can not drink any soda, caffeine, coffee, tea, oj, or even beer & wine at all any more... Almost feel like something is stuck in my throat some times. I find that if I take my prilsec at night before bed it works a little better than when I try and take it before meals or during the day. Sometime I take double dosage of prilosec to try and help but most the prilosec makes stomach feel worse. I cant seem to get this under control at all. It is becoming disruptive everyday now. Any help would be appreciated. Thank-you.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
In addition to what NIKOLE_RENE31 has suggested I have included lifestyle changes that ne one with gerd/acid reflux should follow.
I also want to mention that if u have too little acid u can feel the same as if u have too much acid.Only ur dr can tell u what ur issues r.

Lifestyle changes. Diet modifications.
Medications to reduce stomach acid or to promote normal motility.
These can include Proton Pump Inhibitors, Histamine Receptor Antagonists, and over-the-counter remedies. (like prilosec)
Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
Limit your intake of acid-stimulating foods and beverages.
Don't lie down for about two hours after you eat. ( or more depending if it persists with the 2 hr min change)
Elevate your head a few inches while you sleep
(approx 6")
Maintain a reasonable weight.
Don't smoke.
Don't drink alcohol.
Don't wear belts or clothes that are tight fitting around the waist
Keep a record.
Record what triggered your acid reflux episodes, the severity of each episode, how your body reacts, and what gives you relief. The next step is to take this information to your doctor so the both of you can determine what lifestyle changes you will need to make and what treatments will give you maximum relief.

Please update us on ur progress.

Hi,
You might want to make an appointment with a GI doctor so that they can do an endoscopy ( a scope is placed down your esophagus) so they can see if you have anything going on. All your symptoms can all be from the extra acid from the reflux, can also be a problem with your stomach not empting fast enough. I was told to eat smaller meals and dont eat anything for 4 hours before going to bed. This does work for me when i actually do it.
