Oh cool!  What type of test did you take to prove that you had acid reflux 24/7?  I have had heartburn since I can remember and always took Tums, almost daily.  2 years ago I was on the treadmill (way too long) and that started me with palpitations - and now I'm taking Nexium. I had an Upper GI Endoscopy - and it was all super healthy, pink - no damage from years of heartburn.  
Only certain foods trigger palpitations - like the other day it was a salad dressing. I burped it ALL DAY long, for like 7 or 8 hours (despite taking PPIs). I felt funny the entire day. Only relief is drinking lots of water etc. Anyway, please let me know, maybe I have the same issue.
