ive the complain of pain in the chest for years...i completely neglected it...visited docter last month for some other reason, got to know tht ive sever acidity...she advised me famotidine..but my problem is agravation day by day by day...i m having indigestion, nausea when i travel long distances plus palpitation as i wake up from sleep...can u advise my ne medication n tell me wht changes do i need to make in my daily rotuine?

thx for ur advices..but i visited doctor jst the day i posted here..he has prescribed me esomeprazole 40 mg once a day for 4 weeks...it has been 4 days tht i m taking this medicine n masallah ive found significant improvement in my health..plus he has also advised me to take domperidone whenever the conditions get worsen..do i still need to go for EGD or H.pylori test?

The H. Pylori test is a blood test. If it's positive, they place you on Flagyl and antibiotics, sometimes along with Bismuth for 2 weeks. It's not an easy regimen to get through. From what I've read, approx. half the world's population has it, but many have no symptoms.
You need an EKG to rule out any heart problems since some start w/indigestion.
Pepcid is not for people that have had symptoms for years, like you have. You may need an EGD or scope to check out what is going on with your esophagus.
Please make an appt. soon. These symptoms progress and get worse over time, and it sounds like you would benefit from a doctor's check. Just for your own peace of mind, and for your family.

You might be suffering of H. Pylori infections.  I would get that checked, ask your doctor to do a test for it. I hope you feel better soon.  Mine started years ago with various symptoms and finally doct. said I was suffering from ulcers.  Then Acid Reflux started really bad.  I am so tired of it.  I am getting check for the H. Pylori myself soon.  God Bless
