air in my chest

i feel like i have air in my chest,  if i drink a can of soda all at once and i burmp i feel better.  but its every day. my doctor says acid reflux, but i been taking zantaz for 3 weeks and still no better.  also once in a while i have chest pain, like my heart is pumping to fast.  is it all the same thing?  what do you think it is.

Hi,
The symptoms are suggestive of acid reflux. But for confirmation 24 hours pH monitoring has to be done.
Few patients with GERD do complain of fast heartbeats. A complete cardiac workup is however  essential to rule out other causes.
If you do not find relief with zantac, you may consider switiching to PPIs.
