atrophic gatritis

I have upper abdomial (abdominal) pain with nausea for 8 years .4 years ago Doctor did endoscopy , Ultrasconic scan and diagnosied for GERD.He have Nexium 40mg for a year.After i stopped nexium pain started appearing again.Another doctor did endoscopy again and now diagonised for atrophic Gastritis with intestinal metaplasia.pls somebody let me know how serious is this?when t will become cnacer,

Hi,
Atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia is a premalignant condition.
It is reversible though this concept is controversial.
