belt around chest and cant breath

I suffer with acid reflux real bad. I can't breath and feels like something is tightening just below my ribs, side and back. I get them around every fortnight and the latest episode I was sick and brought up blood within the sick. It was more than a table spoon but less than half a cup of blood. The night before I went to bed I brought up black bits yet only had rice that day. It looked abit like coffee granules then had some blood bits. Is this a result of gerd? If so will it get any better in time as I can't handle it anymore. I can't breath nor walk. Thanks, sj

Hi there,

Hope you have now fully recovered from the Cholysystectomy (Gallbladder op).  The Endoscopy will be very important as they can see if you have a tear/ulcer or erosion, that would explain the blood.  Chron's disease can also be the cause of blood and bloating... but lets wait for the tests end August and please let us know how you are doing.

All the best,

Hi, hope the liver tests is okay?  Please let us know how you are doing as we are going to be worried about you.  Vomiting blood is never a good sign.

That's the thing, it only happened that time. I been to the docs about it and they sent me to hospital on gp support unit and they did bloods. My blood count was fine! But it showed something was wrong with my liver. I'm having tests done and gna be having a scan. Hopefully nothing is wrong tho but had enough. Always one thing after another.

I'm not a health professional, but clearly you need to be evaluated, and quickly.  I suggest next time you bring up blood, I'd take the blood speciman with you and go to the emergency department at your hospital.
This could be either stomach, esophagus or a lung problem.  Do keep us informed, but you must be examined as soon as possible.  Don't wait until you expel blood, but take it with you if you can get a specimen.
