hi there, im new here. i surf from dozen sites already that are related to my problem and this site is the best and i guess would give me answer to my problem. i am 27 years old. 140lbs. 5`0 in height. my problem is about burping. i first notice it last year after i stop drinking too much alcoholic drinks. i am an alcoholic person before and decided to stop just last year. i know burping is normal. but in my case, i keep burping even if im not drinking carbonated drinks. i am suffering from continuous burping before and after eating. it has been months now and i still burp. right now when im typing this i sometimes burp. this is so annoying. is this a serious health problem? last year my weight was 110 lbs now im 140lbs. does it something to do with weight also? really, how to cure this pls?

HI and welcome to the GERD forum.

I would strongly suggest u see a GI dr....he will check u for a hiatal hernia or other digestive issues. SInce we r not drs here we can only offer support, not dx what is wrong...and a dr couldn't do that either without seeing u.

Please see ur dr to find out what may be the root cause...in the meantime u may want to ask ur Pharmacist what OTC med could be helpful to u.

And u should watch ur diet...some foods may be adding to ur issue.

Our Health Pages have info on foods to avoid and lifestyle changes that in addition to meds can help.

In addition to ur burping u may have a motility issue where ur digestive track is moving too slow...and again the GI dr is the best to help....this may be a cause for the weight increase.

Alcohol is on the list to avoid as well as carbonated bevs......dairy can also cause issues...

Please post an update on ur progress and do continue to post ur questions and concerns.
