respected doctor,  my mother is 50yearold she is having gerd endoscopic impression is lax les with mild gastritis and mild duodenitis she is taking pantocid dsr since 5 yrs.but no releif she is still having pain  abdomen constipation  burning sensation in brain ct brain is normal our dr suggest for fundoplication  but there is no hital hernia . sir i need your opinion.

In addition to medications lifestyle modifications is also necessary to control symptoms. These include-
1. Head elevation while sleeping
2. Small frequent meals
3. Going to bed 2- 3 hours after food
4. Avoiding bed time snacks
5. Avoiding smoking and alcohol
6. Avoiding tight fitting clothes
7. Avoiding cola, citrus drinks, carbonated drinks, tea, coffee, spicy food
8. Weight reduction

Surgery is only the last resort, if medications and lifestyle modifications fail to control symptoms.
