gnawing pain?

For the past couple months i have had a burning/gnawing pain in my upper abdomen, right below my sternum. It feels like there is a ton of acid in my stomach. I've been on Nexium for a while, helps but doesn't make it go away. I was diagnosed with H. Pylori last year and was treated and it went away. I had an endoscopy last month to check for ulcers. They didn't find any, but found a small hiatal hernia and gastroparesis. When i did a gastric empty study it came back normal, along with my biopsy. Now my GI doc says it could be GERD or maybe gallbladder disease? I've been doing a lot of research online and i'm a major hypochondriac also! I find that i have symptoms similar to pancreatic cancer and abdominal aortic aneurysm! My GI doc doesn't think it's a big deal and i have a followup appt. with him later on. But my stomach just doesn't feel right. Has anyone had anything similar happen to them? I just want this weird dull ache to go away! Thanks

Hi...outside of the gerd and hiatial hernia.....I am not familiar with H.Pylori other than it is a virus. Is it possible u have it again?

My father had similar issuae and went to the ER 4x's over a 3 month period and for some reason they could not detect it was his Gall Bladder even with him saying I think it's my Gall Bladder.

Watch ur diet and avoid foods that produce more acid.....and try to relax as stress will only add fuel to ur fire.

Good luck

I don't think i have H. Pylori again b/c when my pain started up again i got re-tested for H. Pylori and it came back negative. And when they did my endoscopy a few weeks ago, it showed nothing in there...
Did your father get his gallbladder removed? Did he have similar symptoms to mine?

Yes ...it took several months and visits to the ER, but they finally did remove hiss GB.One of the things that did show up was sludge...he has so much acid in his system it affected his liver.

It also went too long and he still has issues.Because of his age and he also has a heart condition they will not do another surgery.

Hi symptoms were similar to urs and that is y I mentioned it....he saw several drs and none caught it...even with him saying I believe it's my GB...I was there and I said something too....for some reason it did not show up on the tests they did.

I have the acid reflux and I kept telling the dr I had a pinching feeling right at the bottom of my right rib cage. It went on for a long time.He did the upper gi and found the acid reflux but never check my gall bladder. One night it started hurting so bad it felt like I was in labor on that area. I called the dr and it was a gall bladder attack. My pain would start in my back on the left side and run up to my shoulder--then the full attack. It is dangerous to let it go as it is connected to the liver. The nurse told me she saw some people get really messed up over waiting too long. The pain gets so bad, it is hard to wait too long. Mine bothered me for years before I had the first attack.
