I'm going to have to agree with selmaS on this. What you're describing sounds more like a motility issue than simple GERD. And the causes could be many (gluten intolerance, gastroparesis, billiary dyskinesia, gallstones, IBS...) so I don't think it's wise to get your answer strictly online. This needs to be checked by a gastroenterologist, and you need to have an EDG done. That much acid in your esophagus for that long may have caused serious damage (esophageal ulcers, strictures, Barrett's esophagus...).
For the moment, follow a very strict GERD diet, and stick with low-fat foods, and make an appointment with a GI doc.
Hi and welcome to the GERD forum.
I must strongly suggest that u see a GI dr, Taking self perscribed OTC meds.A big issue could be that u do not appear to be under a drs care.
We do have a list of foods to avoid and lifestyle tips to help reduce the symptoms of acid reflux....these should be done in addition to the rx meds of a dr.
IBS can be an effect of untreated gerd......again, this is a condition to which a dr must address.I would suspect ur bloated issues are bcuz ur IBS issues r not addressed.
As for ur eating...try small meals of foods that do not cause issues....try the safe foods list. 4 or 5 small meals a day may be helpful.
The question on vomiting, it is a normal symptom that does seem to go with gerd...however, repeated vomiting only brings the stomach acids up into the esphopagus and can cause damage.
I must repeat...see a dr and post an update.
