for over 2 weeks now i have had a feeling in my throat where it feels like something is stuck in it. the first 2 times i noticed it i thought i wouldn't be able to breath much longer. then i realised if i breath through my nose that helps. but in doing this it really hurts my throat. i have smoked for about 10yrs and i am worried it may be throat cancer, which is why i am here and not at the doc's getting it looked into!!
it really is rather painful, is there any advice you could give me on how to fix it or/and tell me if this is a sign of throat cancer.
it's the feeling of...you know when you want to cry, but at the same time you want to hold it in because it's not a good time to cry. the pain you get in your throat from that, just all the time!!
thanks for any help!!!
pleaseeeeeeeeee

Hi mmm_1976,
Stickiness in the throat is considered very significant when it is associated with difficulty in swallowing.
Since you have pain also, it could be due to infection.
Consult an ENT who will look in to your throat and diagnose your proble.

i had a feeling in my throat just like that a couple or years ago.  I was very scared because I could not swallow.  I went to see my ENT and he admitted me in the hospital.  I had an abscess on the back of my throat.  He drained and gave me strong IV to clear the infection.  You need to go to the doctor now I am sure that it is nothing bad but, you need to have it check.
