nonerosive gastritis, diffuse h pylori negative

Hello. I had an endoscopy yesterday and just want your opinion on the findings....

ESOPHAGUS - INTACT MUCOSA DOWN TO THE EG JUNCTION WHICH COINCIDES WITH THE Z LINE AT
                         40 CM LEVEL.

STOMACH - THE LUMEN IS EMPTY WITH INTACT RUGAL FOLDS. THERE ARE PATCHES OF
                   HYPEREMIA AT THE CORPUS AND ANTRIUM. BIOPSIES FOR RAPID UREASE TEST
                   WERE TAKEN. THE PYLORIC RING IS ROUND AND DISTENSIBLE. ON RETROFLEXION,
                   THE SCOPE IS TIGHTLY HUGGED BY THE CARDIA.

DUODENUM - INTACT MUCOSA DOWN TO SECOND PORTION. PATIENT TOLERATED THE PROCEDURE
                      WHICH LASTED FOR 5 MINUTES.

DIAGNOSIS  : NONEROSIVE GASTRITIS, DIFFUSE H PYLORI NEGATIVE.

  The doctor prescribed me to take NEXIUM 40g daily before breakfast for 21 days.

Hi,
You are having gastritis involving lower part of the stomach.
H.pylori which is one of the common causes of gastritis is negative in your case.

Treatment of gastritis is with PPI ( or H2RA). Your doctor has prescribed PPI
( nexium).

If you are taking NSAIDs, you need to stop taking it.
