pain in left rib

i have a  sharp pain in my left side under my pectoral muscle periodically (near or in my upper left rib). it also happens when i contract y chest ore when i contract my abs.  the pain comes and goes but today i feel some pain in my left  arm and if i rub my left arm i can feel the pain thats in my upper left rib !! i'm 31 years old athlete

Hi, we are patients on this community so I am unable to diagnose.  I would see your Dr esp. since it's left sided and involves your left arm to rule out cardio.   I don't think GERD presents like that from my experience, but really don't know for sure.
