pain swallowing

Ever since I had carotid artery surgery four weeks ago, I have pain (similar to ice cream headaches)
when I swallow. It seems to originate near my right jaw and ear and radiates from there.
Could I have been injured with the incubator tube during surgery, or could it have been caused
by the surgery itself?
Thanks.

It is very possible u had a problem due to intubation

It is also to get a infection from being intubated called thrush...not sure if u would feel like u mention...but u should contact ur dr and explain how u feel.

Good luck

I had a colonoscopy four days ago and the anesthesiologist told me I would be given Propofol to sedate me and only if there were problems there was a chance that I might be intubated which might chip my teeth. I was positioned on my left side and instructed to bring my knees up to my chest. She then put a mask over my nose and mouth. I woke up with the worst sore throat of my life. My throat was blood red and it hurt to talk, cough, breath and swallow. I've had strep throat many times and the pain was nothing like that. I gargled with warm salt water, took throat lozenges, etc. and nothing helped. Woke up the next morning and my sore throat was completely gone but could barely talk and my my jaw was sore and bruised. I still have severe larangitis four days later. I can only assume that I was intubated but no one told me I had been and might have some discomfort for a few days. Is this normal to intubate and not inform the patient? What's worse is that even though I followed the prep instructions to the letter it wasn't enough to clean me completely out and I have to repeat the procedure. Is this normal? Can I request a different sedation drug protocol for the next colonoscopy?
