should I cont. taking the med

A yr. ago I was prescriped Dexilant 60mg. everytime the script runs out I just get a refill. BUT now I hear I should of stopped usng it like 6-8 months ago. So do I cont. using it or not??? I had my esophogas enlarged that is why I was prescriped it.

Thank you for the replies ,puts my mind alittle more at ease. O and about the esophogus enlarging..Nope it dont hurt you are asleep and even when you wake up it is like you just took a nap. :) Thx again for the come backs

I agree talk to your doctor.  I myself have been on Dexilant 60 mg for over a year.  I do worry at times of the long use of taking these meds, but I have severe esophagus conditions and without it the problem would only get worse.  They have talked of enlarging my esophagus, does that hurt?  I have been hesitant of getting that done just the thought makes me queasy.  But for yourself, I would go and see your doctor about your concerns, or he or she can tell you what is best for you in the medication department.

You need to talk to your doctor about your concerns. I have been using Dexilant for a year now. If you had to get your esophogas streched, then sounds like you need to stay on it, or use something else. I have been on acid reflux meds for about 15 years. I hope this helped!
