spasm or flutter

I'm a 42 year old male, in past have been diagnosed with small H Hernia. Diet very good and weight good.  On nexium for 3 years but never have any heartburn or any burning at all.   What I do have is a strange sensation, fluttering even spasming in area just under sternum.  Used to happen temporarily at night keeping me up just before sleep, and most recently last 3 months starting to be day and night.  Probably 70 percent of the time. can visually see it. only occasional mild nausea with this but mainly just the feeling of it spasming drives me nuts. Must take ambien to get passed it at night and starting to become rather anxious about it.   also am experincing back and shoulder pressure point pains.  Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this and if it may be h hernia or something more sinister?  Any thoughts would be appreciated

The flutters / spasms which you are describing look more like muscle fasciculations. It can occur in normal persons. But neurological lesions can also cause it.
Consult a neurologist who might examine you and come to a conclusion.
