throat and gastro reflux problem

hi dr.
my self salim shaikh from india my age 34 years i am facing Throat Problems and Gastro-esophageal Reflux mainly always i have sore throat, pain in throat, redness in throat, some dr. told me its coz of gastro and my stomach wall doesnt close properly so all acid comes up.

please suggest me that surgery will help me?and what type of surgery it is?how much time it takes to recover after surgery?

Hi,
Surgery is the last option for acid reflux disease.
Relief can be obtained with PPI medications like prilosec .
In addition to medications certain lifestyle modifications are also important. These include-
1. Weight reduction if obese
2. Avoiding alcohol, smoking, cola, citrus, tomato, spicy food
3. Avoiding tight fitting clothes
4. Small, frequent meals
5. Going to bed 2-3 hours after food
6. Head elevation while sleeping.

The surgery done for acid reflux disease is fundoplication. It can be done laparoscopically.
