My husband wakes up every night or even when he is taking a nap vomiting all over the place and gets choked in his sleep, it seems to happen like every single time he lays down. What is going on with him, what can he do to relieve this. He has tried nexium, protonix, everything how can i help him?

Hi,
This probably could be regurgitation of acid reflux disease.
Though he has tried PPI, complete relief is possible only if PPi is taken along with some lifestyle modifications.
Lifestyle modifications -
1. Head elevation while sleeping
2. Small frequent meals
3. Going to bed 2- 3 hours after food
4. Avoiding bed time snacks
5. Avoiding smoking and alcohol
6. Avoiding tight fitting clothes
7. Avoiding cola, citrus drinks, carbonated drinks, tea, coffee, spicy food
8. Weight reduction
