what are lung lobes

doctor said I have scarring upper lobes in chest x ray every six months,said I have had to be around asbestos is this dangeroussince I also have stenois and gerd

Hi,
There are three parts or lobes in the right lung and two in the left.
Exposure to asbestos over years probably decades can cause scarring of lungs resulting in lung disease and mesothelioma.

Severe GERD over a long period of time can also cause scarring of lungs. But this is very rare.
