Biliary Dykinesia

I just received my HIDA scan test result which the EF was 0. I made an appointment for next week, but what is it exactly? Is it something serious?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

With this scan report, you should be having fatty food intolerance and sometimes pain in the right upper quadrant if there is evidence of gall stones or inflammation of the gall bladder. If due to non-functionality of the gall bladder, there is stasis of bile, it could predispose to gall stone formation.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

It basically means that the gallbladder is not functioning at all! No bile fluids are leaving the gallbladder and into the duodenum through the bile duct and sphincter of oddi.....

This could be a blockage by gallstones either in the gallbladder of the bile duct, or even sphincter of oddi dysfunction...

Usually you will need to have your gallbladder removed surgically.....as the first point of action....

Have you had an ultrasound? Did they see any gallstones?

I received my HIDA scan results today and told me my gallbladder is not working, I'm scheduled to meet with a surgeon next week.  What are your symptoms?

My HIDA results showed I had about 25 % EF.  I had my gallbladder removed a week later. It showed my gallbladder was diseased and not working as it should.  I have felt better since I had it removed.
Hope this helps!
