I had diarrhea for some days in August. Once the diarreah was gone, my body was not the same. I have had pretty bad bouts of nauseousness, heartburn, intermittent tenderness, pain behind right rib, poking pains in upper right back around scapula, bitter taste in mouth, burp a lot after eating, and lost about 30 pounds. They ran a bunch of test on stool and blood and found nothing. They did colonoscopy and did biopsies and those were negative. Did an endoscopy and thought all looked normal and did not do biopsies. They tested me for gastroporesis and I don't have that. I'll feel good for some time and start eating normally again. Then something happens and I get super nauseous again. Once the nauseousness starts, it seems to last for days. The last time I had eaten scrambled eggs and a blueberry waffle and got super nauseous about an hour after eating. They just did a HIDA scan and it came back at 30% ejection fraction. I had bad pain behind right rib, really nauseous and could feel something come up from my stomach to throat durning the cck part of the test. Report said below normal limits. I have a GI appointment next week, but from what he said, he doesn't think gallbladder could cause all my symptoms. Does anyone have any advise or similar experience with nauseousness and gallbladder?
Hi im Sherry and i have fraction of 26% now i read alot of horror stories but if it is 40% and above they wont but if its below 40% you should yours is only a few higher then mine and im 44 years old look 20 but this has bothered me since 1999 under each side my gull bladder and my pancreais seems to have a problem, they say i have gerd and all that crap but maybe its a bad gull bladder that causes all that cuz everyone with low fraction seems to have gerd, h-pylori, and other crap but i go on wednesday to have it removed but since i made my appointment my gull bladder has not acted up but i feel if i cancel my surgery it will so i decided to get it removed what do you think its been nagging me for a long time on and off it flutters it aches if i touch my side i get heart burn if i lay on my side i get heart burn but this week nothing crazy but im sure it will creep up on me if i dont have it out
I'm not sure what medical school your doctor went to, but he sounds like a complete moron. The very first thing that any good doctor would have done is to do an ultrasound of your gallbladder. Did he ever do this, or just the HIDA scan? Your pain is identical to everything I'm experiencing (though I do have gallstones), but this all began last year when I didn't have stones. My doctor said that I most likely have had a non-functioning gallbladder since this time and that all of those symptoms are common for a bad gallbladder. I would skip the GI appointment all together and ask if you can have surgery done. It's the only thing that is going to fix a bad gallbladder.
Thanks for all the responses! I had an ultrasound and CT scan and another ultrasound last fall and it only showed a spot on my liver-- benign. I'd love to have the surgery if it will improved my symptoms. I would hate to have it and still have issues or even worse, get diareaha. I meet with the GI tomorrow. We'll see what he says. If he still doesn't think it's my gallbladder, I'll search for a surgeon or a second opinion from a different GI. Did anyone have my symptoms, have the surgery and end up feeling better?
I had all of your symptoms and just had surgery yesterday, so it's too soon to tell you about my results. However, the surgeon told me that all of my left-sided pain was most likely not related to my gallbladder, but since yesterday after having surgery, my left side feels great. So, sometimes I don't think these doctors don't know a whole lot.
This year i started having all of the symptoms that everyone has mentioned. I have only had one severe gall bladder attack but i deal with bouts of nausea that sometimes last all day. My Hida Scan score was 25%. My doctor sent me to a surgeon and he wants a second opinion so now i am scheduled for an Upeer GI endoscopy on Tuesday. Why not, lets rule everything out but if this upper GI is negative my gall bladder is going to go. I also have week to 10 days sometimes symptom free but then here it comes again. If the gall bladder is poor functioning it is not going to get better so it is coming out.
