Gallbladder Pain Postpartum

I had a baby 16 weeks ago. During and after my pregnancy, I had severe right upper quadrant pain. It now hurts below my right ribs, right shoulder and shoulder blade, and around the right side. I have nausea, bloating, upset stomach, frequent vomiting, belching and pain.

My HIDA scan and ultrasound showed no remarkable findings aka "normal" however my primary doctor says he has seen this in 10 other females postpartum. He believes I have gallbladder disease.

I have been on Vicodin & its the only thing that helps. Prilolsec had no effect and Bentyl makes it worse sometimes. I'm scheduled to see a GI DR and a surgeon but my dr tells me the surgeon will probably blow me off.

Any ideas, thoughts, help?

I just had a EGD, the scope in my throat to look at my stomach and I have no gastritis or other problems, so the surgeon will probably take my gall bladder out now. I will google that, thanks!

Hiya

It does sound biliary related!
I had a very similar thing happen just 6 weeks or so after my 2nd baby! I ended up in the ED after being floored with such awful upper abdominal pain radiating into my back!

I had my gallbladder removed but I found that this did not improve anything!!! Now, a couple of years later....I have been diagnosed with sphincter of oddi dysfunction!

Perhaps google this and see if this sounds like you! (I hope not and it is just gallbladder)

I hope you get some relief soon hun
