Update: Had ct scan, showed an ( 2 cm) Adenoma, and cyst on ovary, no gallstones, had Hida Scan, results normal. Still have upper pain mainly on right side where liver is located, sometimes have acid burning sensation that radiates from right side front to back. Just got an MRI done, haven't got results back yet from that. So no one has an idea of what is causing this gnawing, burning pain I have. Also have some pains on left upper abdomen, but not as often. Sometimes also get pelvic pressure pain, not sure if that is due to the cyst on my ovary or not. So tired of not having an answers. Family doc. doesn't seem to concerned with tumor on liver, but everything that I have read about hepatic adenomas it seems pretty serious to me. Doc. also says that the adenoma should not be causing any pain and he thinks its from something else. If any one else has anything similar to what I am going through, please post some comments. Thanks
That's good news. Been the ovarian cyst route, not that uncommon and may resolve.
Had a HIDA scan myself some weeks ago, ejection fraction of 18%. Was at Stanford fir a test earlier in the week. Very sick today.
Good luck!!
Well it's great news that it's not cancer, but after reading all this stuff about adenomas, very scared that it may turn malignant or rupture, family doc. Didn' t seem as concerned as I am. Saying my prayers that all will stay well
Well got my results back from ct scan, great news.. Turns out I have a liver adenoma, which is benign and usually caused by being on the pill for so many yrs. Also had small cyst on ovary, but said it appeared to be fine, have to get another ultrasound in 6 Mon. to keep a check on them, also have to get a hida scan to see if I have a dysfunctional gallbladder which may be what is causing all the pain. Thank the lord they there is no cancer:) hope u get good results as well, keep me updated

Understand being nervous. Good luck.
I have to go all the way to Stanford today for some Disgusting bowel test. Hope we both get good news.
Going in for ct scan tomorrow, the lesion found is on my right lobe about 2.5 cm, praying that this is benign, all blood work came back normal, so I hope that is to my advantage. I am very nervous about the outcome, keeping my fingers crossed
Hope your tests come out ok. All my other tests were normal also. The HIDA scan showed the low ejection fraction. You might ask your doctor to order one.
Good luck and please update.
I have also been having terrible pains in upper abdomen , sometimes on left upper side but, mainly right side under ribcage, that radiates to right side of back in the same place, sometimes it feels like a acid burning sensation, ( almost like my insides are on fire) other times almost like a bad hunger pain, or swimmers cramp. My blood work was supposedly normal, (they didn't actually go over it, just said they were o.k.) did an ultrasound, they said gallbladder appeared to be fine, however they found a " shadow around my liver area" and now have to get a ct scan. Am very afraid of what this could be. Only have a few drinks a couple times a year, I am only in my 30's, and have 2 young children, don' t know what is causing this pain, is not tender to the touch, get a little nauseous, but that's about it, pain is unbearable at times especially burning feeling radiating to mid back area. Any suggestions?
Thank you for the response. I am still undecided as to what to do. The GI specialist I saw at Stanford University does not seem concerned about the gallbladder at this time. She now has me on Amitza for constipation and has started me on Gabapentin, which I am supposed to gradually increase. I think she thinks it is more a motility issue possibly causing the gallbladder issues. Very confusing. I still have daily nausea and can barely eat and continue to loose weight. If I knew for sure having the surgery would resolve these problems, I would get it done. They both told me, and I have read, this might help, not help or I could actually be worse.
I still feel all this started with a tooth infection and the antibiotic I was on, Clyndamicin(?)
Hi, if you have typical gall bladder symptoms, all you need is some evidence of an abnormal gallbladder to be comfortable recommending cholecystectomy. Your HIDA scan was abnormal and documented an diseased gallbladder. Your symptoms are consistent with gallbladder disease. So, please discuss the surgical options with your doctor. Good luck with your therapy. Regards.
