Post Op 2 weeks - new pain

2 weeks and 1 day ago I had an emergency cholesectomy via laparoscopic surgery. The surgery went well and despite the post op pain I felt really good.  I was healing well, even though the incision at my belly button was healing more slowly, to the point I took myself off my pain medication after a week.

2 days ago I awoke in the middle of the night to sharp stabbing pain that started at my belly button and radiated to my right side. Thinking I might of rolled onto my stomach i took some painkillers and went back to bed. In th morning I woke up to the same stabbing pains and feeling off, when I went for a shower I noticed the area to the right of my belly button was puffy.

I immediately called the GP and got into see him. He put me on penicillin straight away incase it was infection. I did blood tests. This morning I got the results they showed nothing out of the ordinary. So got sent for a ultrasound - that's all clear no fluid, abcess or signs of infection.

However the doctor is extremely concerned since now my appetites gone, and the stabbing pain is still there even if its not as bad. he admitted he is truly stumped and asked permission to contact my surgeon to discuss my symptoms and advised me i may have to go back to the surgeon for assesment.

Now im getting worried. has anyone had complications like this aswell?

Mystery solved. Went back in today again, sharp pains became more frequent during  the night and this morning I felt like there was something stabbing me inside my belly button. On examination the doctor found part of the internal suture poking through the incision site at the very back of my belly button. He carefully tugged on it a little bit and it came right out. After cleaning the wound he said he could see where the suture I had rejected had been irritating and poking into the very back of my belly button on the right side. 3 hours later other then a bit of irritation I'm completely pain free.
