Remove GB or not ???

I've been having dull pain under ribs on the right side for the last 5 years.
Last 6 month this pain is almost constant.
Pain increases when I sit (drive the car etc).

Ultrasound findings-  NO STONES, one polyp 4*4*6 mm size. Hard to tell whether this is actually a polyp or a stone attached to the GB wall. Wall thickness =2,5mm

Did HIDA scan 2 times, first time in US, with "Ensure" fatty meal, GBEF = 14% only... second time overseas, where they gave me a sweet drink (sorbit?) and GBEF=32%

My GB removal surgery is scheduled for Monday, but I still feel uncertainty. The polyp alone is too small to justify the removal. Ejection fraction looks reduced, especially when it was 14%...  but the second scan showed 32% (close to the normal range). Wall thickness of 2,5 mm is also not too thick to suggest inflammation....

Another observation - I did not feel any additional pain during the HIDA tests, unlike some people who report horrible pains after drinking the fatty meal there.

Any suggestions? I am really tired of this pain... but what if it is not GB-related... Should I go ahead and remove it on Monday ?

Keep your gallbladder if you can.  You will still get stones in liver and duct so it doesn't solve anything -- the surgery.
Gallbladder flush - don't wince at this, just do it.  It works!   Either you want to be in pain or you don't.  Also, Google your symptoms.  You can put any question on just Google or Wiki and most likely find your answer, but anyway.

Here's a quick flush:  eat lightly this day and try to consume at least two or three green apples if you can.  Just before bedtime, take the juice of one lemon or grapefruit and 1/2 cup olive oil.  Combine in a glass jar and shake it like crazy till it all mixes together.  Drink down in one go.  (IYou get used to this and brings so much relief you won't care after the first time.)  Now immediately go to bed.  Lie on your right side with knees up near chest.  Try to fall asleep like this.  Do the best you can.  Upon rising or sometime during the day you should be a BM.  The color should be golden brown and larger in circumference then you've seen in a while.  You might see "sand", "mud", or "seeds" of various colors, yellow, green, bluish and brown.  These are small stones.  Some are cholesterol stones and others are pigment stones.   Here's a link to a Google Search I just did with lots of hits.  Take your pick, but educate yourself.  Don't just run to the doctor.  They have nothing to offer but surgery and prescriptions.  Sorry, but it's true.  One has to take RESPONSIBILITY and not leave it all to the poor doctor.  There is more to be said.  But this is a start.  Then consider at least 2x a year a liver gallbladder cleanse.  Again Google this stuff.  Best of luck , Gwynne
