What could be wrong?

I'm a 23 year old girl and I have been suffering from abdominal pain cramps for 5 years already. My pain comes and goes and it;s situated nead the umbilical cord and sometimes i have sounds coming from my tummy.  I have been tested for worms or helicobacter pylori but everything's fine. I can figure out what is the problem?

I am sorry that it has been so frustrating. iBS would certainly be a possibility but I would think that a more thorough evaluation would be in order before making this diagnosis. A gastroenterologist would generally be the one to do this. Can younget another GI opinion?

Yes i've seen a gastroenterologist. He's the one who told me i might have irritable bowel syndrome. I had more ultrasounds because i went to diferent doctos since none showed high interest in my symptoms.

I am still confused. Why would you have had more than one ultrasound? About the only thing that would rule out would be gallstones. That still doesn't equate to an evaluation of your problem. Have you seen a gastroenterologist? If not it would probably be a good idea.

Well a doctor suspected that i have a irritable bowel syndrome and she gave me some medicine for intestinal flora but it didn't really help me. Also i avoid eating junk food and fats and fried foods. But in general i noticed my abdominal cramps are more present in the first half of the day, especially in the morning. As i told you my stomach doesn;t really hurt, it;s my intestines around the umbilical cord and the noise they make. And after 2 hours after waking up i feel the need to go to the bathroom so i noticed. Also when i'm really nervous i have the urge of going to the bathroom but i don't think that this is connected to my problem. I had numerous ultrasounds and they showed nothing just one time the doctor told me i have high stomach accidity and that i might have a starting of a gastritis. The doctor also told me that i have a little problem with my colicist - it was bigger at that time. But she gave me tratament and it came back to normal. I can't think of any other symptom. The symptoms started 5 years ago and i can;t figure it out.

There are numerous possibilities. I would assume that  more evaluation the just checking for H pylori and parasites has been done. What studies have you had? Possibilities range from irritable bowel syndrome to umbilical hernia and would include gallbladder disease, congenital abnormalities like Meckel's diverticulum, etc. do you have any other symptoms?
