post gallbladder removal

I am post op lap gallbladder and I am 24 days post op.  I've had in the last week or so mid sternum pain and goes straight through to my back like someone is stabbing me with a knife.  It lasts for 2-5 hrs. at a time.  I've taken 2 Percocets, 10 mg Valium, neither of which helps with the pain and I use ice on my upper back which of course just freezes my back so it's numb.  I called my surgeon who ordered a bunch of blood work this AM and another formal Upper right Quad ultrasound.  I don't have the results of the ultra sound yet.  My ALK was 434, AST 460, Bili normal 0.6, Amylase normal 37, CBC w/ diff Normal.  Symptoms don't seem to be associated with eating or not.  On low fat almost all protein diet due to post gastric sleeve surgery 8 mo. ago.

Any guesses??? Or suggestions?

No pain with movement,  I've had GERD before not that, and I've had full cardiac workup with threadmill BEFORE my gallbladder surgery.

MRCP was neg. for a retained stone in the duct.  Still having pain.
Gastro is going to do an endoscopy now and look for a ulcer.

Repeat labs again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello and hope you are doing well.

If with movement you are getting pain it is likely to be an inflammation of the skin, subcutaneous tissue or the bone. This can happen with injury, repetitive activity or an infection of the skin. Sometimes it can be costo-chondritis, inflammation of the sterna rib junction. If the pain is aggravated with work or exercise then it could be due to cardiac pain. The pain could also be due to GERD or heart burn. An EKG or a treadmill test may help to rule out a cardiac cause for the pain.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
