Total gastrectomy due to stomach cancer

Severe pain under ribcage on left side. Doctor thinks it is gas pains. Have tried Gas X, etc. OTC but is there anything that would relieve this that could be taken first thing in the morning so not bothered by it off and on during the day?

You must consult a doctor first about this instead of running your head with questions, as it is very important to get out of it soon before any bigger problem.

There are gas pains but it can be a sign or symptoms of GERD too. So it is necessary to check your self properly.

my husband had gastrectomy also he is on feeding tube totally off solids! Just wondering if you are on j-tube?

Well, my Grandfather was on this tube and he was totally on off solids and, this tube is inserted through abdomen to the second part of small bowel to carry the feeding well. it requires proper checking, cleaning and dressing in time, and for this it requires to check the skin around the tube and need to look for the redness on skin, leaking or drainage which is very important to observe.

Sometime J-tube(jejunostomy tube) may gets clogs that needs alternate flushing through water and aspirting with the syringe.
