I am a 43 year old male with a 10+ year history of elevated SGPT.   The readings have ranged from 50 to 110.  My doctor has indicated there are no other out of range readings.  I had a liver scan 7-8 years ago with a radioative dye and nothing of significance was found.  I was a light drinker but stopped completely 6 months ago when my doctor indicated that he thought I had Fat Intrusion into the liver which can end up resulting in sclerosis 25% of the time.   I have taken acetaminophen up to the max dose often over the years.   Up to ten years ago I worked in the electronics industry and had periodic exposure to organic solvents like 1.1.1 Trichlor. and was unaware of the risks.  My doctor has said that the best we can do short of a biopsy is monitor the condition which we have done.  My doctor did suggested in the past that a liver biopsy may be indicated but did not stress its importance so this has not been performed.   Having read many of the postings I am now concerned that I have not given this condition the attention it should be getting.  How concerned should I be and how active should I be in pursuing this further?  What steps should I be taking?
