11YR. OLD EXTREME GAGGING

I am at my wits end!  This problem has been going on for 4 years.  Every morning my son wakes up and says he doesn't feel good in his stomach.  Most of the morning is spent gagging, sometimes to the point of throwing up (although that is more than the exception than the norm).  Smells, shirts and jackets or anything near his neck bother him.  Even the thought of a smells or getting dressed sends him into a gagging fit.  We have been to our family general practitioner as well as an Ear, Eyes, Nose, Throat specialist.  Other than an xray of his throat, no formal tests have been done.  Doctors seem to feel he is "normal" and he will outgrow the gagging.  I don't know where to turn--these gagging fits  end with me getting angry as nothing seems to help!  Please offer me some direction!
